    Welcome to my page! I am thrilled to be a part of your learning experience as we explore your gifts and talents. My mission is to challenge and make a difference in my students' lives.  I have enjoyed getting to know students and their families at Wren Middle since 1999! Prior to coming to Wren, I taught middle and high school English and history in Florida and Kentucky. 
     
    I am a native Floridian, but I have adopted South Carolina as my home! I graduated from Florida State University (Go 'Noles!) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication.  I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching (English and History) at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.
     
    In my spare time I enjoy boating on the lake and traveling. My daughter is a graduate student at Lander University (Go Bearcats!); my son, who also attended Wren schools and Lander University, tragically passed away in October 2020. With his passing I am reminded to make each day count and that all children need extra love! As a teacher-mom, my children have also reminded me that we all need to have patience and a sense of humor in life!
