    Philosophy of Education


    The single word I use to describe the educational system in the United States is diversity.  Diversity describes the social economic make-up of students, curricula, types of programs offered, class size, and resources available to schools and communities.  Within this diverse setting, we educators must continue searching for ways that will prove beneficial to the well being of our children.  Every child is different, and they all matter. Providing the most appropriate education for all children must be the goal of every citizen.


    Philosophy of Leadership


    The educational leader must remember that his number one priority is to make decisions based on what is best for the students in his school.  High achieving schools are lead by forward thinking leaders that are dependable, trustworthy and capable.  A strong leader is cognizant that the most important task of all is the teaching that occurs in the classroom. The leader must focus the attention of everyone on this fact and emphasize for the entire system to focus his or her attention on supporting the classroom teacher.

    Vision for Learners


    There is nothing more important in the eyes of a great educator than providing the very best education possible to the children in his classroom.  This must be true throughout the entire school district. Children are different, and they all learn differently. My vision is to provide a safe, comfortable, supportive environment that will foster the learning styles of each child.  Regardless of the background of the child when he enters into our school system, we must do everything within our power to help that child become a productive, contributing citizen in the community.

    Vision for Teachers


    Teachers and the job they do in the classroom should be the number one priority to the educational system.  Nothing has a bigger effect on student learning than that of the classroom teacher.  Therefore, it is my belief that everyone employed by the school district – but not in the classroom – should work to support the classroom teacher


    Vision for the Organization


    The principal must work to provide a positive learning environment by building and fostering relationships with parent organizations, volunteers and by establishing partnerships with area businesses.  An organization where open and honest communication is the norm is also an organization where respect and pride is fostered.

    Professional Growth


    “Never Stop Learning” is a common phrase all educators should adopt.  Everyone in the organization must continue to hone his or her skills, regardless of their job duties.  A major function of the support staff at the school and district level is providing appropriate staff development for the classroom teacher as well as promoting the continual growth of all employees.
