Jason Lesley

Hello, my name is Jason Lesley. I am so blessed to be a part of Spearman Elementary.  Here is just a small part of my journey to become the Principal here at the best school in South Carolina!
Like our students here, I also attended Spearman many years ago.  When I became the principal here 13 years ago, 4 of my wonderful teachers who taught me were still working here (that was very surreal). I am, of course, a proud graduate of Wren High School - Class of 1994!.  I then attended Erskine College where I played baseball for 4 yrs. and majored in physical education. After graduating in 1998, I taught Special Education at West Greenville Alternative School for 4 ½ years.  I then taught Physical Education at Spearman Elementary in Anderson School District One for 3 years.  While at Spearman, I also coached baseball at Wren High School.  I graduated in August 2006 from Furman University with a Master’s Degree in School Leadership.  I then traveled to Pickens County to be the Assistant Principal at Dacusville Elementary for 2 years.  During this time I also enjoyed teaching Adult Ed. at night.  After my time in Pickens County, I was blessed to return to Anderson One as the Assistant Principal at Concrete Primary and West Pelzer Elementary (at the same time, during the same year!). I am currently working on my Educational Specialist Degree and Doctorate Degree in School Leadership.
I have an amazing family.  My wife Sandy and I have been married for 22 wonderful years.  We have 3 children: Canon 14, Reese 12 and Ransom 9.  My youngest, Ransom, is a current student here at Spearman, Reese is a 7th grader at Wren Middle School and Canon is a 9th grader at Wren High School.
I am passionate about making Spearman the best school in the world for our students.  I love coming to work every day where we get to make learning come alive for every child. We want to not only prepare our students for middle school, but also help develop the whole child.  We want every student to be successful academically, socially, physically and emotionally, which will prepare them to be successful adults one day.  I definitely have the best job in the world.  I am blessed to have the opportunity to be at a school that has the most talented teachers ever, amazing parents, a supportive community and hands down the best students around!
