Hello, I’m Marion Lawson, a 7th grade Social Studies teacher at Wren Middle School! I am thrilled to join the wonderful team at Wren Middle in the Social Studies Department. After graduating Easley High School, I attended Furman University graduating with a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Secondary Administration and Supervision.
This is my thirty-fourth year in education. I taught history and social studies for five years in junior high and high school before becoming an assistant principal. I coached track, basketball, wrestling, and football. Then I served as an administrator for 26 years. I served as principal of Pickens High School for 16 years; Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Administration, SDPC for 3 years. While an administrator, I served as President of South Carolina High School League Executive Committee. I was honored to be the AAA state Principal of the Year.
The past two years, I have been a sixth grade and eighth grade social studies teacher 2019 – 2021 (including nine weeks of virtual instruction). Currently, I’m a 7th grade social studies teacher at WMS.
