Hi there! My name is Emily Bays. This is my second year teaching, second grade at Concrete Primary! I grew up in Michigan and attended Grand Valley State University where I obtained my bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2020. I started my teaching career as a math interventionalist for 2nd- 5th graders. Then, in July of 2021, I moved down to Greenville, SC. I recently bought a house in Piedmont and I have been loving the southern way of life!

It was not until 8th grade that I had a teacher who believed I was capable of anything. Thank you Ms. Dempsey :) I want to be the teacher I did not have during my elementary years! I want each student to feel welcome, empowered, safe, and capable of anything. When I see that "light bulb" go off, it is one of the best feelings for teachers and students! 

I enjoy reading, shopping, playing with my puppy, music, coffee, crafting, and spending time with family :)
