Hi!  My name is Beth Mills and I am very excited to be teaching your child this year!  This is my 13th year teaching math and my fourth year at WMS.

My husband, Tim Mills, and I are from western North Carolina and moved to the upstate 7 years ago.  I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management/Marketing from UNC-Asheville and worked for a number of years in advertising and non-profit.  I took some time off to stay home with our children before completing my Masters of Teaching degree in Middle Grades Mathematics from Western Carolina University.

Tim and I have been married for 29 years and have 3 children.  My oldest, Maggie, is a second grade school teacher in NC.  She and her husband have blessed us with two grandchildren, Carolina and Ellie.  Our sons are Isaac and Samuel.  Isaac lives in Georgia and got married this summer.  Samuel graduated from Powdersville High School in 2018 and is working and going to college here in the upstate.  We have 2 dogs - Bear, a Golden Retriever, and Oscar, a Dachshund.  We are huge Tarheel fans!

My hobbies include kayaking, cooking, and crafting, and my husband and I are part of a running group.

I love working with middle schoolers - never a dull moment and always entertaining!  Mathematics is my passion and my desire has always been to help students become more confident in math and to deepen their understanding of number sense.  I believe this is going to be a great year as your child learns to build community, gains confidence, and becomes a skilled mathematician.
