Mrs. Kristine White

The 2020-2021 school year will be my seventh year teaching in Anderson District One, and my 14th year teaching special education.  Before I came to Anderson, I spent 7 years teaching students with moderate intellectual disabilities and autism in Greenville County.
I first knew I wanted to teach special education when I was a junior at Greer High School, and I am in this profession solely becuase of my experiences as a Peer Tutor during my junior and senior years.  I had no idea classrooms like this existed until high school, and once I was exposed to these students and learned how to interact with them, I knew this was exactly what I’m called to do for the rest of my life!  Because of that, I am extremely passionate about getting gen ed students involved with my students, and love helping introduce my students to their peers outside of our classroom.
I believe with my whole heart that every student has strengths, and every student has a capacity to learn.  I enjoy finding new ways to help my students learn how to be as independent as possible in their surroundings.  I also believe that education is a joint effort, especially in the field of special education.  I love working alongside my students' families and walking with them through their child's successes!
I am married to the most wonderful man, Matthew.  He is on staff at NewSpring Church, and he loves his job there!  We have two beautiful daughters, Abbye and Alston.
