Welcome to the Gateway to Technology Web Page.
    Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Travis Guthrie and I will be teaching 6th Grade Gateway to Technology:  Gifted & Talented, 7th Grade Gateway to Technology: Gifted & Talented, and 8th Grade Gateway to Technology: Computer Science through Project Lead the Way.  Project Lead the Way is a nonprofit organization that provides science, technology, engineering, and mathematics curriculum and programs to K-12 students.  I am blessed and privileged to be beginning my second year of teaching at Palmetto Middle School.  I have lived in Williamston my entire life and I graduated from Palmetto High School in 2004.  I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Lander University in 2008.  I decided to return to school and pursue my true calling in life in 2011.  I recently graduated in May from Anderson University with a Master's of Arts Degree in Education.  I have always enjoyed utilizing technology in my everyday life and I hope to share my enthusiasm with my students.
I have been married to the love of my life, Ashley, for five years.  We do not have any children of our own, but we do have three "fur children".  When I am outside of school, I enjoy exercising, watching most sports, and spending time with my family.  In the fall, I enjoy watching Gamecocks football.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  The Gateway to Technology E-Alerts are an excellent means of keeping up with the progress of each class throughout the year.  I am very excited about the upcoming school year!
