Tips for a Successful Year
Communication between school and home is essential. Therefore, weekly communication folders will be sent home every other Monday. This folder will contain a report of conduct and work habits, all graded assignments from the previous week, and a weekly newsletter. Any grades that are an 80 or below, as well as pertinent information regarding your child will be noted on an as needed basis. Folders are to be signed and returned to school on Thursday.
A weekly newsletter will be sent home each Monday via email or hard copy. This newsletter will provide an overview of skills and concepts we are learning in each subject area, as well as dates for major upcoming graded assignments. In addition, important class and school announcements will also be included in this document. Make a habit of SAVING this document. Simply placing the newsletter on the refrigerator and highlighting important information is an excellent way for you and your child to keep up with upcoming events and assignments!
Consistent completion of homework is essential to reinforce the skills taught in class each day. Each afternoon time is allotted for students to write all assignments in his/her agenda and pack items needed for the evening. Please look over your child's agenda each night to ensure ALL assignments are complete. Completed work should be placed on the "homework" side of the folder and returned to school the following day.
