Hi! My name is Emily Blakely. This is my fourth year teaching at Spearman and I am so thankful to be at such a wonderful school. Here is a little bit about me!
I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where my family lived for 18 years. I moved to South Carolina for college and I currently live in Greenville. I love South Carolina and I have no intention of leaving!
I attended Clemson University for 5 years (GO TIGERS!). I received my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education. I also received my Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning. Teaching is something I have wanted to do ever since I was little and I am so excited that I am gettting to live out my dream.
When I am not teaching, I like to spend time with my family. We like to go to the lake and to the beach. I also enjoy spending time with my friends in Greenville. Some of my hobbies include painting, photography, and traveling.
My philosophy of education stems around building a community of learners. I believe in authentic learning experiences and preparing students for the real world. I cannot wait to see how my students grow as learners as well as individuals over the course of this school year.
