Welcome to Michele Kesler's
Welcome to Mrs. Kesler’s classes! I am really looking forward to this school year and hope you are too. I am here because I love to teach students like you and help you learn more about yourself, about life, and about Science. We are going to have a great year together; I just know it! To the parents of my students, I also say “Welcome!” to my classes. Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or concerns. I love emails and frequently check my Inbox. Also, please feel free to subscribe to the Remind text service for each of my courses. Directions for Remind service are on the page listed to the left. Also on the left is the link to my Virtual Classroom, new this year, which will be the centralized location for you to access everything I have made available this year.
I grew up in Texas and graduated with a B.S. in Pulp and Paper Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. After working in the chemical industry for twelve years, my husband and I began our family. I started teaching science in Rutherford County, NC in 2002 and moved to SC at the end of 2005. I taught at Palmetto High from January 2006 to June 2011 when I moved to Powdersville High. In 2007, I completed my Masters Degree in Education at Southern Wesleyan University. I am certified to teach all sciences 9-12 and have taught most of them in the last several years.
Powdersville High is a great place to be! In 2020 - 2021, I am teaching Forensic Science, A.P. Physics, and Astronomy. Please never hesitate to ask questions; I promise that if I don't know the answer, then I will find out. Science is a wondrous place with lots to discover - I'm learning something new about it every day and so will you.
I am married with three children, three cats (one of which acts like a dog!), a dog, and whatever frogs, bugs, and lizards are temporarily staying with us. I love to knit, spin, quilt, make jewelry, read, and watch sports (especially football!). And I have been known to do more than one of these at the same time!
